Welcome to Mid Peninsula School

The Mid Peninsula School District is located in the central Upper Peninsula. It is situated north of the Gladstone Area School District and south of the Gwinn School District.


The school district was formed in 1977 as a consolidation of two small rural K – 12 Districts. The former districts were Rock School District and the Baldwin Township School District.


The Mid Peninsula School District is compromised of four townships and covers an area of 332 square miles. The school is located ¼ mile west of M-35 on the St. Nicholas 31st Road which is two miles north of Perkins and six miles south of Rock.  


The district has a student population comprised of Great Start Readiness Program and K – 12 all housed in a single building. The building has separate wings for K – 6 and 7 – 12. The multi – use room, gym, and office sit in the middle; separating the sides.


The track and football field is located behind the school, along with the nature trail. The nature trail is newly made with the outdoor classroom which was made by the Ecology Club and the Green Team.
